About the Role
Are you ready to play a vital role in shaping the future of one of the UK’s most critical infrastructure networks?
At Connect Plus Services, we’re responsible for operating and maintaining the M25 – Europe’s busiest orbital motorway – and we still have over 15 years remaining on this transformational project. That means long-term stability, real opportunity, and the chance to be part of something that’s built to last.
As a Structures Inspector, you’ll be at the heart of ensuring the integrity and safety of the M25 network. From leading General and Principal Inspections to adopting new technologies and collaborating with industry experts, this is a role where no two days are the same. You’ll work independently and within a supportive team, helping to uphold our Zero Harm values and keep millions of journeys safe every week.
If you’re looking for a career that offers growth, variety, and a long-term future – all while making a meaningful impact on the UK’s transport infrastructure – we’d love to welcome you on board.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Structures Inspector, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and integrity of the M25 — one of the UK’s most important transport networks. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where your expertise will directly contribute to keeping millions of journeys safe, every day.
In this role, you will:
- Independently manage and plan your own inspections, including Principal, General, and Special Inspections across the network — all delivered to the required standards and timeframes.
- Collaborate with our Roadspace Coordinator to secure roadspace, traffic management, and safe access arrangements for each inspection.
- Lead desktop reviews of structures to develop tailored inspection methodologies, considering access needs, constraints, and defect history.
- Prepare and review Work Package Plans, including comprehensive Risk Assessments and Method Statements specific to each inspection.
- Carry out inspections to industry best practice, in line with the M25 DBFO Contract, CS-450, and the Inspection Manual for Highway Structures.
- Embrace flexible working, including night shifts or irregular hours, to ensure safe and timely delivery.
- Adopt and apply risk-based approaches, and support the integration of new technologies and mobile tools during inspections.
- Accurately report findings using digital inspection applications and input data into the M25 Asset Management System.
- Collaborate closely with Scheme and Service Delivery Teams, ensuring inspections and surveys are seamlessly integrated into wider planning.
- Work with the Engineering Team to help manage critical defects identified during inspections.
- Respond to emergency call-outs, assisting in the safe management of incidents involving structures on the network.
You’ll be part of a skilled and supportive team, working on a long-term, high-profile project that still has over 15 years ahead — offering stability, growth, and the opportunity to make a real difference in UK infrastructure.
Who We’re Looking For – Key Requirements
We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about making a real difference in infrastructure safety and is ready to grow their career on a high-impact, long-term project. If you’re proactive, detail-focused, and a team player — you’ll fit right in.
Essential:
- Proven experience in Structures Inspections, aligned with CS450 standards
- Background in working on the Strategic Road Network (SRN)
- Valid CSCS Card
- IPAF certification (for working at height and access equipment)
Desirable (but not essential – training can be supported):
- Knowledge of working within rail possessions
- SSSTS Qualification (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme)
We welcome candidates from all backgrounds and experiences. If you meet the essentials and bring a commitment to safety, quality, and collaboration — we’d love to hear from you.
