About the Role
As the Asset Delivery Lead for Linear Assets, you will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive portfolio of linear asset-related work, including inspections, maintenance, and various projects. This role covers pavement, barrier, fencing, and drainage assets.
Linear assets play a crucial role in the M25 network, significantly contributing to customer experience. This role ensures a predictable and responsive delivery across all these assets.
Your primary focus will be on safe, predictable delivery of the annual program, with an emphasis on driving efficiencies in execution. Additionally, you will optimize resource utilisation within an organisational matrix to achieve effective and economical outcomes.
What You’ll Be Doing
Safety
- Demonstrate high standards of visible safety leadership.
- Ensure required safety performance levels are met, promoting behavioural safety across teams, in line with “Making Safety Personal” principles.
- Foster a strong safety culture within the team.
People Leadership
- Lead a large team to deliver a portfolio of inspections, maintenance, and project outputs on time and to quality standards.
- Clearly communicate delivery targets and expectations, optimising productivity across the team.
- Ensure that front-line Maintenance, Inspection, and Supervision teams are fully engaged, with well-managed work processes that support quality and efficiency.
Portfolio Management
- Oversee a portfolio of asset inspections, maintenance, and projects, ensuring alignment with asset-specific requirements and organisational objectives.
Delivery Accountability
- Take full responsibility for all aspects of delivery related to the assigned asset type, including scheduling, execution, and completion of inspections, maintenance, and projects to the required timelines and quality standards.
Budget Management
- Monitor and control performance against the in-year delivery budget and the overall project budgets, implementing corrective actions and improvements to maximise financial and operational performance.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary contact for internal stakeholders and clients regarding the specific delivery portfolio.
- Escalate critical decisions and unresolved issues as needed, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
Resource Allocation
- Work closely with Inspection, Maintenance, and Delivery PMO leads to efficiently coordinate resources within the organisational matrix, meeting project deadlines and quality standards.
Reporting and Compliance
- Ensure all asset delivery activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Prepare and present monthly reports on portfolio delivery to clients and senior leadership, as required.
Who We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in maintenance, project delivery, or a related field.
- Strong leadership skills and experience managing a team, preferably within a matrix organisation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and under pressure.
- Familiarity with industry safety standards and regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a relevant field, OR suitable industry experience.
- Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.

Location:
This is a hybrid role designed to fully maximise team collaboration on the project, we therefore expect a minimum of 60% of your time to be spent at a CPS offices.
