As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, based in Dartford, Kent, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems across the Dartford River Crossing and M25 Tunnels. What You’ll Be Doing
As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be at the heart of keeping the M25 Tunnels and Dartford River Crossing running safely and efficiently. This role offers a dynamic, hands-on experience with a mix of planned maintenance, fault finding, and urgent repairs, ensuring every day is different and rewarding.
- Maintain & Repair Critical Infrastructure

- Conduct planned maintenance and defect repairs on essential electrical equipment, including Switchgear, Transformers, Pumps, Fans, VSDs, lighting, and control gear.
- Maintain and repair the traffic safety systems, including sensors, barriers, and traffic signals near the Dartford Tunnels.
- Problem-Solving & Technical Expertise

- Diagnose faults, read technical drawings, and carry out repairs independently, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
- Perform civil, electrical, and mechanical maintenance work, utilising a broad skill set to support infrastructure resilience.
- Safety & Compliance

- Adhere to strict Health & Safety regulations, ensuring safe working practices at all times.
- Maintain vehicles, plant, and equipment to ensure they are always ready for operational use.

- Attend emergency incidents, working safely and effectively to clear hazards and restore operations quickly.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) – Required qualification
- Proven experience in electrical fault finding, repair, and maintenance
- Commercial or industrial experience in electrical systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable Certifications (or willingness to train):
- Authorised Person – HV (advantageous)
- MEWPS & IPAF Certification
- Confined Spaces Training
- Inspection & Testing C&G 2391
- CSCS Safety Card
- PASMA Certification
- G39 (DNO Equipment) Training
- Working at Height (Harness Training)
- First Aid Certification

This is a hybrid role designed to fully maximize team collaboration on the project, we offer flexible working where you will typically be working from your base CPS office, Leatherhead, Dartford or South Mimms up to three days per week and two days from home.
