About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and empathetic Employee Relations Advisor to join our team in a challenging and dynamic environment. You will play a crucial role in fostering a positive workplace culture by addressing employee concerns, managing conflicts, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies. Working closely with managers and guided by the Senior Employee Relations Advisor, you will manage a portfolio of employee relations cases and contribute to the organisation’s strategic HR initiatives.

Role Purpose

To provide expert HR advice on a range of employee relations issues, coach managers to navigate complex casework, and ensure compliance with employment law and internal policies. You will support the development of a positive employee experience, focusing on satisfaction, retention, and organisational growth.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Employee Relations Management
    • Act as a key point of contact for employee relations issues across the business.
    • Provide guidance and support on conflict resolution, disciplinary matters, and grievances.
  • Policy and Legal Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies.
    • Advise on updates to policies following changes in employment legislation.
  • Performance and Behaviour Management
    • Coach managers on handling performance issues, misconduct, and improvement plans.
    • Support investigations and provide high-quality documentation and recommendations.
  • Organisational Development
    • Contribute to projects aimed at improving employee engagement and retention.
    • Design and deliver training programmes to build management capability in handling employee relations effectively.
  • Data Management and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate records of employee relations cases.
    • Produce reports, analyse trends, and recommend proactive measures.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Identify opportunities to enhance HR processes and recommend improvements to support the business.

Who We’re Looking For

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Industrial Relations, Psychology, or a related field.
  • CIPD qualification (or working towards it) is desirable.
  • Proven experience in employee relations or HR advisory roles.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and best practices.

Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with managers and stakeholders.
  • Strong influencing, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Location:

This is a hybrid role designed to fully maximize team collaboration on the project, we therefore expect a minimum of 60% of your time to be spent at a CPS offices.
