About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Trainee Highways Safety Inspector to join our team, providing a unique opportunity to learn and grow within the field of Highways safety.

This role offers a unique opportunity for professional growth and development in the realm of Highways safety in and around the M25 network. Working within our dedicated Safety Inspection Team you will learn to identify and manage safety defects on a variety of asset types, liaising with a number of stakeholders in the mitigation and repair of these defects.

 

What you’ll be doing

    • Safety: Undergo comprehensive training to understand and implement safety protocols, regulations, and standards related to highway infrastructure.
    • Safety Inspections: Gain hands-on experience by actively participating in Safety inspections alongside experienced inspectors, learning to identify safety hazards and assess risks.
    • Data Collection and Analysis: Develop skills in collecting and analysing data related to road safety, contributing to comprehensive safety assessments.
    • Collaborative Projects: Work closely with seasoned professionals and cross-functional teams on various highway projects/departments, assisting in quality assurance and safety compliance activities.
    • Communication Skills: Enhance communication and interpersonal skills through interactions with colleagues, stakeholders, and the public, ensuring effective collaboration in promoting a culture of safety.

 

Who we’re looking for

    • Full driving licence B/B1
    • Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office applications
    • CSCS site visitor card
    • Strong interest in highway safety and a desire to contribute to creating safer road networks.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to a dynamic work environment.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Location:

This is a hybrid role designed to fully maximize team collaboration on the project, we therefore expect a minimum of 60% of your time to be spent at a CPS offices.
